Somehow the horror movie clichés ( a medium, a seance, night vision, the subverting of childhood games into something sinister) come across as The Orphanage is a Spanish ghost movie and it does a good job. The storyline is a bit different than the usual Ghost-in-the-House movie, and it works pretty well. The storyline moves along at a pretty good pace, and you can understand what's going on, who can see the ghosts and why, and why people do what they do in the movie.
