The Volvo P1900 was a fiberglass-bodied roadster built in very small numbers in 1956 and 1957 by Volvo of Sweden. Volvo's president and founder Assar Gabrielsson got the idea for the car when he saw a Chevrolet Corvette in America and wanted to make something similar.

Only 67 units of the Volvo P1900 were manufactured in the one short year for which production was maintained (1956-1957), it was only the discord between the momentum of the marque and Volvo's new president, Gunnar Engellau that halted the production, to give way to the new Sporting Star of Volvo, the P 1800, produced in all the spotlights of the marque. P1900 Meaning The Output Shaft Speed (OSS) sensor provides the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) with information about the rotational speed of an output shaft. The PCM uses the information to control and diagnose powertrain behavior. In some applications, the sensor is also used as the source of vehicle speed. Volvo in 1954 moved away from its wholesome, play-it-safe-image and rolled the dice by pulling back the cover on a fiberglass-bodied sports car, the Volvo Sport P1900.
